This unit DEM 304-Enable Rights and Choices of individuals with Dementia whilst Minimising Risks is about developing the learners’ knowledge, understanding and skill of enabling the rights and choices of the individual with dementia whilst minimising risks.This unit may be assessed using any method, or combination of methods, which clearly demonstrates that the learning outcomes and assessment criteria have been met. This unit requires workplace assessment of occupational competence.
Learning outcomes for (DEM 304)-Enable Rights and Choices of individuals with Dementia
- At the end of the course learners should be able to understand key legislation and agreed ways of working that support the fulfilment of rights and choices of individuals with dementia while minimising risk of harm .
- They should also understand how to maximise the rights and choices of individuals with dementia .
- They should also be able to demonstration an understanding on how tto involve carers and others in supporting individuals with dementia.
- They should also be able to maintain the privacy, dignity and respect of individuals with dementia whilst promoting rights and choices.
